River Bear oil on canvas 24 x 30 inches

River Bear is the first painting in my current series. While snow shoeing last winter, we discovered an ancient exposed tree stump by the shore of the frozen river that resembled a bear. In spring we hiked back through the woods and found it again, already half submerged.
